BB King has died this week at the age of 89.

BB, whose real surname was King, got the BB from a moniker he earned while DJ at a Memphis Blues Station where he was known as the Beale Street Blues Boy.

During his career, BB collaborated musically with scores of artistes.

I liked this one he did with Randy Travis

I saw BB King at the Brighton Centre back at the end of 80s. Not a particularly memorable gig, though I still smile about the fact that after about an hour he tottered off stage and the band continued to play. Everyone thought he was going to come back on to play an encore, including his master of ceremonies, who grandly announced, "Ladies and gentlemen, Mister B B King", making each of the B's of the BB stretch out over a number of seconds, "Mis-Ter Beeeee Beeeee King!". And nothing happened. And then he did the same thing, this time augmented by a huge arm gesture to one side of the stage ..... and nothing again! He never did come back on!!

lol.
Sometimes the "legends" can be a disapointment.
I was none too impressed when I saw Jerry Lee Lewis some years ago. 'What a bloody prima donna', I thought. His little sis put on a much better show at the Half Moon for a fracftion of the price.
Dodgy fella, JLL. Saw a movie about him. Dear oh dear.
