Aaaagh - can't stand this song................unfortunately Raymond Froggatt made it popular about 6 or 7 years ago, resulting in some CMC acts including it in their repertoire. Usually accompanied by the audience doing silly hand actions - dreadful!
I'm not familiar with Tracy Elsdon - is she British?

I used to like the song. Still do I guess. Another one that I haven't heard in years. Probably more than 6 or 7 years ago. The tape was laid down late 90s/turn of century. seems like a lifetime ago. As for Tracy, I've no idea. Wouldn't have remembered her name if I hadn't written it on the inlay card. Anybody out there who knows, please let us know.

It's a masterpiece of the conversational style of songwriting. You could be there, stopped to pass the time of day with a cemetary groundskeeper and this is how it could have come out. Nothing forced or laboured, no lines shoehorned in to make it scan. Just one half of an ordinary everyday conversation. Some thing that Tom T does so well.

Here's something I've literally just found out. This is a Harland Howard song.

You're dead right!
I'm not familiar with this song though - the only one of Joy Lynn White's that I remember is "Little Tears" which was played a lot on CMT in the 90s. She's a great singer and deserved more success, although I think she's still writing songs.
I'm enjoying this mixtape, by the way!

Thanks. I found some more stashed away too. I've been enjoying digging out all these songs that I loved from years ago so much I might carry on with those too, if you don't think people might get a bit bored with it.

I don't think I've heard these girls before, although I feel I should have - nice harmonies as you'd expect from sisters.
I have heard the song though - it's on a Confederate Railroad album.
